Writing is the craft by which speech is forestelled by tokens that are read for the alonging of knowledge.

It is thought that the earliest writing was andwickled by the Sumerians, who wrote with staffs made up from wedge-shaped marks, forblown by the Babyloners, Assyrians, Neshites, Persians, and many others.

Slightly after the Sumerians began writing, the Egyptians orded a new writing of their own. Over the years the staffs of Egyptian writing frothered in shape and meaning. From this, though at great length, came our own staffhoard.
