Wales is a land on the iland of Great Britain in the north west of Europe. It is one of the four lands that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is hemmed in the east by England, in the south by the Bristol firth, and in the west and north by the Irish sea.

The land has about 3,000,000 indwellers, of whom one fifth speak Welsh. The headtown is Cardiff, and other main towns are Swansea, Bangor, Newport, and St David's.
