Where exactly does "underthrow" come from? I assume "namefall" is a calque of Icelandic "nefnifall", but that itself means "nominative." Should "namefall" simply mean "nominative case?"

[edit] Needful is necessary

There are two obvious Anglish alternatives for "necessary". One is "needed", and one is "needful". Someone has deleted the entry "needful". I don't appreciate this as it contravenes the principles set out. Namely, no one deletes another's entry unless it is patently spam (say, someone wrote "dog" as a word that needs repalcing with "canus", or soemthing, which would be mad). I believe whoever did it probably meant no harm, but I have to ask people again to not delete another's entries. This is clearly laid out in the policy of our group. I settle with that. 'Needful' is a perfectly good word for 'necessary', and anybody who wishes to argue against it ought to do so here instead of outtaking it first. Oswax Scolere 08:08, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
