Belfast is a town in the Banded Kingdom, and the headtown of Northern Ireland. It is the greatest town in Northern Ireland, and after Dublin, the next greatest town on the island of Ireland. Nearly 300,000 folk live in the town.
The town sits near the mouth of the Lagan ea at the south western end of Belfast Lough, a long inlet of the sea fit for the kind of shipping that made the town nameknown. It is hemmed by the Stronghousereagh hills to the south, and the Antrim hills to the north.
